French's Common School Arithmetic

Harper & Brothers, NY, 1875

A very old book, and tremendously well designed, this is my favorite math book. The lessons in it are pretty easy to follow and cover everything a person needs to know without the fluff of cartoon characters and fanciful math stories. Although the examples aren't quite real-world anymore, it's still easily understood.
